Fishing Hiking Aquanautics Golf Winter SportsThis is a little survey of some of the sports, which is offered in the Languedoc-Roussillon. If you need any additonal information on a certain type of sports or recreation activities, please do not hesistate to contact us by E-Mail. We will answer your questions as soon as possible.
Fishing
The fishing organisations of 36 Departements of Southern France have formed the Club Halieutique. During the holiday season (1st June until 30th September) the Club offers fishing permissions (carte de peche). With this permission you may go fishing without any limitations. However, it will be favourable if you present your local fishing permission to the Club.The tabac shops in France also offer daily, and weekly fishing permissions for the various rivers and lakes.
If you would like to go fishing during your stay, please inform us in advance - we will prepare the application form for you.
Do not miss the perfect fishing ground of the Lac Montbel. A variety of fishes waits for you. You are allowed to do fishing (approx. Euro 23,-/day.) during each day of your holiday in France (night fishing is not permitted!) from June to September. The nearest place for fishing at the Mediterrenean Sea is Port-la-Nouvelle.
Auqanautics
The vacation rental in France sees its own pool (11 x 5 m)Futhermore the Lac Montbel (approx. 20 km) offers perfect conditons for surfing, diving, sailing, and swimming.
The river Aude is perfect for canoeing. During 1999 the canoe championships were held in Axat (approx. 25 km). There are a lot of rent stations for canoes and kayaks along the river Aude. The next canoe-kayak-club is located in Quillan.

Golf
There are a lot of golf courses in the Languedoc-Roussillon: from 7 to 18 hole courses - for all types of players. The fee for the golfing pass amount so about € 137 and it is valid for 5 green fees. The golfing pass will be for one person and must be used within 15 days after it has been executed. It should be reserved 48 hours in advance. The next golf course (9 holes) is located in Carcassonne. An 18 holes-course is located in St. Cyprien (approx. 80 km) at the Mediterrenean Sea.If you are interested in the golf pass, please inform us at least 14 days in advance. We will apply for your golf passport.
Hiking
There are 6300 km of hiking routes (Sentiers de Grande Randonné) in the South of France; the most beautiful is the famous GR10 the Pyrenees Route. The so called Topo-Guides are available in all book stores, those for the Departement Aude are available at Le Coustal. The region offres routes in forests, the vineyards of the Corbières, the branches of the pyrenees, the montagnes noir or the gorges of the river Aude. Wintersports
There will be something new this winter seasons - skiing in the Pyrenees, Europe's most exciting winter sports area. The snow covered peaks keep watch over the coast, giving you the sparkling snow of winter in the Mediterrenean sun.Just about 80 km distance from Le Coustal you will enjoy 10 skiing regions of the pyrenees at an altitude of 1300 to 2600 m - and there are six more ski regions in the central massif. And what possiblities: touring ski, downhill skiing (day and night), parabolic skiing, snow surfing, skwal, monoski ... 150 ski lifts and 220 compacted pistes. And there's one thing that's never missing near the holiday home in southern france - snow!
