Vacation Rental: pool, garden, environment
The outdoor area sees a large swimming pool (11 x 5 m), a terrace with garden furniture and parking lot for your vehicles. The splendid garden sees pines, an olive tree, figues, passion fruit, romarin, thyme, laury trees.The terrace is equipped with a barbacue and garde furniture. The pool is surrounded by plants and herbs of the Mediterrenean region.
In this « Pays des Cathares » there is history all around. There are these proud castles, ruins nowadays, but during the middle age, they were refuges for the members of this mysterious sect of the cathars. Various museums and abbeyes are witnesses of the rich and changing history of this region. Only about 30 miles to Carcassonne, this unique middle age cité, or go and see Narbonne, where you will find the largest nave of france oder the abbey of Fontfroide, Europe's largest abbey or one of the many markets of Perpignan or go for a tour to Spain or Andorre or ... there are many things to discover.
The village of Saint-Sernin
Small it is, 25 people live here, and just like an eagle it is placed high above the valley of the river Aude. The people here are winemakers, and their wines are not the worst. In 1999 Mister Paul Bocuse came along, just to buy the white wine of our neighbour, Christian Meuser. But don't worry, he's a friend, and there will be some bottles for you to taste!St. Sernin with its old château (privately owned) is one of those small, calm villages, which are so typical for the Departement Aude. Absolute calmness you will find, the large forests invite you for walks, ambious bikers will enjoy the hills, booksworms, sportsmen, historians and history fans - you all will find your perfect holiday within a radius of about 50 miles (about 1 hour by car to the Mediterrenean Sea).
There is the fascinating history of the cathars, there are Europe's most ancient caverns and grottos, such as Cabrespine and the Grottes de Limous, there are fascinating old cities and villages, like Mirepoix or Camon, one of the Ğmost beautiful villages of Franceğ.
The shopping facilities (supermarkets, shops, restaurants) are located in the nice city of Limoux (about 10 miles).
The view to the Pyrenees
From the large exterior area of the vacation rental Le Coustal in Languedoc-Roussillon you'll have a splendid view to the unique panorama of the Pyrenees:Bugarach, Pic de Madre, Plateau de Sault, Pic des Soeurs, and the Pic de Canigou.
